Independence Week 1 Day 1
Ever tried living alone? In a foreign country and not knowing the language? Kind of lonely huh?
Today found me in a house with 2 cats in het Royal Dutchlands. I’m glad I have everything in the house already. A bed, a dishwasher, washing machine, bicycle, sofa, and all furnitures you can find in a normal household. It’s good to move away from your home and your family and most importantly, move out of the comfort zone. This, I believe, is a good life training and experience.
I chose to go through this, knowing when my sis will go back to SG while I’m here. This allows me to be be more independent and to know how it’s like living on my own.
Day 1 was good. I woke up in the afternoon. Made lunch, clean up the house and did laundry, then cook dinner. You know, the usual routine. Today also happened to be the Dutch Liberation Day and major parties were held in the major cities. I was supposed to go to Amsterdam actually but oh well, I woke up on the lazy side of the bed. Speaking of which, a train ride to Amsterdam (from Almere, that’s where I am) costs a freaking €10,20. Gees, that money can get me a taxi ride in SG from my house to town, to-and-fro.
